Service Times

Polo First United Methodist Church has been awarded as a "Welcoming Congregation" by the United Methodist Church.

Our worship service starts at 9:10 a.m. with sacred singing. The rest of the service normally is structured as follows. There is a  welcome and announcements of the next weeks activities. Then we have music followed by our "call to worship" which is read by the liturgist and the congregation. After the call to worship we sing our opening hymn. Next are prayer requests, joys and concerns and faith testimonies. This is a time where anyone can get the microphone and ask for prayers for others or themselves, tell of special events or joys in their life as well as concerns or testimonies of how God has been working in their lives. Children's time is next when the children of the church are invited up front for a short message. This is followed by music, several scripture readings and the sermon. After the sermon we usually sing another hymn and take offering. We close with another hymn and a blessing. After every service is a time of fellowship where you are invited to join us for treats and conversation.
